I'm told in the instructions to change the "admin/_config/.htusers.php" file to 777, but there is no such file?

I've even searched on my local version to make sure the file wasn't simply some where else, but there is NO such file in the TWG folder at all???

What am I missing?

thanks :)

There is a .htusers.php file though. I'm not sure if it should be renamed or what it should be.

I have the folder downloaded from the website (not the installer version). When I search the folder (using Mac OS X spotlight) no such file shows up.

Is the file created on the server through some kind of installation process?

If you are using a mac you should actually know this ;).

well.... we use Mac's to avoid the geeky stuff :D

But thanks.

I've looked at it now, done the terminal command and my "Mac eyes" have now regained their abillity to SEE ;)

Question: there are also some » .DS_Store « files that I THINK has something to do with the Mac. ARE they a part of TWG or are they part of the Mac system? Should they be uploaded or deleted from the server afterwards?

.DS ... is mac stuff - don't upload them

.ht files are by default protected by the web server - pretty sad that mac hides them by default - this files are used very often - especially on web servers.

hey, I renamed the twg folder (once on the server) to "showroom" but then it only showed a folder "pictures" ???

Previously I had done the same and all the files were showing? Am I not allowed to rename the folder? I want a link like: /showroom instead of /twg

?

EDIT: once I renamed the folder to twg, the files reappeared, but the question still stands...

I have now changed the password !!! GREAT and THANKS !!!

Your really quick to reply on help issues. I've asked for help on forum installations a few times where it sometimes took....well.... "longer" :D ...a lot longer!

When I check permissions inside the twg I get these warnings:
SAFE_MODE is ON
DISPLAY ERRORS is OFF

..and for some reason it says:

The config.php doesn't have to be writeable! If the settings of the config.php are too low, someone can change the settings of your gallery. But if it is writable you can edit the file with the TWGXplorer.
Please store your configuration in the my_config.php. This makes it easier for you to update and see your settings.
config.php Not found
my_config.php Not found

The my_style.css has to be writeable if you want to store the style sheet with the Color Manager!
my_style.css Not found

I can see the "Not found" files myself however....

can't I change the twg folder on the server to e.g. "showroom" ?
I would like a web adress like kunstnergalleriet.dk/showroom and not /twg

should be not problem - but you have to close the browser to invalidate your session. and delete the *.tmp files in the cache folder.

once I rename the folder to "showroom" I can access the gallery but I cannot go to /showroom/admin/index.php :

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '' (include_path='.:') in /usr/home/web/web32718/kunstnergalleriet.dk/twg/admin/index.php on line 59

When I open the "showroom" folder on my server, there's only one folder: "pictures" ?

seems your server is caching a wrong path somewhere.
I would wait a little bit and retry then

your absolutely right. The files are now showing up when I open "showroom".

For some reason the "cache" folder is empty....

I can't pay you today, because the moneybrokers need to verify my credit card :)
