Hi there! Thanks for making such a brilliant plugin! I was wondering how I could make the iframe content searchable on my wordpress site? I couldn't find the settings for it - or must I import the content to my site to be able to search for it?
Please explain how I would do that if that is the case.
I'm using Fibosearch plugin Pro, which finds all content on my site - except for the content in the iFrames.
Hi,
this is nothing you can influence. Google improved the linking of iframes. Still nobody knows how good google is crawling iframes. I started to investigate this years ago. It seems to change every 6 months.
I still have the feeling that iframes are very valuable for the customers - no idea how google does this for search and ranking. Everything I read was very unclear.
The intention of my plugin is still that I offer the best way to integrate content. Optimal is your own content where you have full access - on the other side where you show parts of the other page the owner is maybe not 100% happy about.
If you have the feeling I can help you further - please continue this thread,
Michael
Hi Michael! Thanks - but what I mean is that I want to able to search the content in iframes on MY OWN SITE, not VIA GOOGLE SEARCH 🙂
So I have many different iframes on my site, and I want to be able to search them.
For instance, I have this URL: https://restaurantmeny.no/meny/oslo/havsmak/
Where I have embedded a restaurant menu. I want my users to able to search for, say, Peking duck, and then get this result up when they search on restaurantmeny.no.
How can I make the content in the iframes searchable on my site?
Many thanks again 😀
Does fibo search offer this?
I think then they need to support this.
Search an iframes are hard. I have implemented iframe bookmarking: https://www.tinywebgallery.com/blog/advanced-iframe/advanced-iframe-pro-demo/add-iframe-url-to-parent
Which I think is very nice for customers. Not sure how a search engine will do this.
Best regards,
Michael
