Post subject:  Lightbox displays first time, fails on subsequent loads

The site is sls-lighting.net --

The problem is that the images load in lightbox if you visit the site for the first time (or clear your cookies) -

BUT if you return to the site, (say 15 minutes later), the lightbox display fails and the full images load into a new plain frame instead.

Any help would be appreciated.

(Also, there are no debug issues and I have made sure to include the css and js links)

Only for the lightbox and none of the other images?

Thank you for the prompt reply,

I'm not sure what you mean though: I would like any and all of the individual images in the TWG galleries to open using the lightbox script..

I played around with firefox a little bit an could not reproduce the problem.

The only thing was that some images took quite long to load.
And I'm really on a very fast connection.

Thank you again for the prompt reply. I have duplicated it on a few other computers and taken some screenshots to show what I mean.

When you looked, did you try looking again after about 10 minutes, after navigating to some other external website?

As to what happens:

1) an error message briefly flashes. By hitting stop I can take a screenshot:

2) If you let the page fully load, the image displays like this:

For me it maybe look more like a timeout of the lightbox if the image cannot be loaded fast enough.
Have you tried to open the error link directly?

Loading the error link loads the image in a blank white page.

I don't think its a timeout error, but to be sure, I re-optimized all the images for the web using photoshop. Also, its weird that it works at first, and when I clear cookies, but not otherwise..

The strange thing is that the link is returned first and then the image. The error message seems lke the lightbox is getting the sting back and says this is an error.
Later the loaded image is simply ignored.

I have to install some addons because firebug does not seem to recognize the additional String. And when using twg_type=thumb is seems not to be displayed (or too fast)

Thanks, let me know what you find out.

The images just look so much better when lightbox loads them properly.

I will.

The problem is that I don't have the problem. But maybe I find something.

Have you already tried to set:

$use_original_on_topxpage=true;

I just tried adding it. Doesn't help.

When you say you dont have the problem, do you mean that lightbox is working for you? Or that it isnt, but you don't know which part is broken.

Also, these debug files just showed up:

03.18.2010 19:24:24 (en) - ERROR 8 in net/public/twg/inc/filefunctions.inc.php, line 72: Undefined variable: fh

03.18.2010 19:24:24 (en) - ERROR 2 in net/public/twg/inc/filefunctions.inc.php, line 72: unlink() [_a href='function.unlink'_function.unlink_/a_]: No such file or directory

For me it works.

Which browser do you use?

Because I just tried Opera, IE, Safari and Chrome and they don't show the request.

FF does show the request for a short time. And I guess if this time is too long the image fails to load in the lightbox.

You can also try the old lighbox implementation. Because you don't use frames you should not see a big difference.

set
$use_lytebox = false;

seems to have worked! I have no idea why. Also I was looking in both IE and FF. Not sure why it worked for you and not me but it appears to be working now.

This is a completely different implementation of the litebox - so maybe at this point more stable.
