Hello all,
New member so please don't shout at me if this has been aswered before, i have lookedbut can't find what i need.

I keep getting this when trying to add a folder/directory;


You don't have permissions to create directories. This function is disabled.

Is this to do with safe mode being on?
If so how can i turn safe mode off?

yes - you either don't have write permissions to this folder or safe mode is on.

first check the write permissions.

safe mode is harder to change if your hoster does not change this for you.
Cal the info.php to see if it's on.

I do know safe mode is on and have emailed my server requesting to have it it turned off.

I have Admin,Cache,Counter,Dtree,Pictures,Xml all set to 777, which folder is the one in question, please.

I also have the errors listed below in bold showing in the debug, can it be fixed?
If i try to open the fun_extra.php i get;

You don't have permission to access/me/twg/admin/_include/fun_extra.php on this server.

I have created new folders with pictures in my FTP program and they show up just fine in the Galleries.

if safe mode is on I recommend that you create direcories only with FTP and manage your files with FTP mainly.

I have writen a big howto to this problem.

ignore the getmyuid error - it's only because it's disabled.

If you still want to use the backend you have to set all folders you want to upload to 777

I will have to use my FTP because my server sent me a reply...

Safe mode OFF is not available due to shared hosting restrictions


But if ican still use via FTP thats fine.

right - it's better that way. You could use the installer version but then you cannot use FTP anymore very good.
