Hello, I am a new member and have just purchased and installed TWG. I cannot upload most images without getting an error message. I have tried both upload methods.

Really helpful not telling the error ;)

You might check you info.php first.
There you see your upload limits.

Michael, the error is number 500. I made the mistake of typing the prefix letters "H" "T" "T" "P" and the forum would not accept my post.

I looked at info.php but couldn't really see where upload size is controlled. Interestingly, pictures that have a smaller filesize than those that successfully uploaded will not load.

Hi, sorry but I can't find where to set upload_max_filesize.

However, I am trying to upload files that are smaller than those already uploaded. When the file uploads, I get the 500 error at the very end of the uploading process. A thumbnail is generated in the uploaded file list, and clicking on the thumbnail gives a larger view of the image.

When I go to the main page there is just an empty box with a broken link icon in the corner and no image is displayed.

If I try to upload the same file again, I get a warning that it already exists and it will be overwritten.

then you maybe can upload the images but TWG cannot resize them because you don't have enough php memory.

info.php tells you the max. resolution for your images too.

OK, I reinstalled TWG completely, registered again and tried to upload two files.

File 1 = 474KB loaded OK
File 2 = 841KB error 500

Where/how do I change php memory ?
What else?

why should reinstall help ;).

Where do you get the 500?

And what are your settings in php.ini?

You change all this settings in php.ini.

simply read FAQ 4 of TFU on the webpage.

Michael,

Well, I reinstall when desperate.....in case the initial install was corrupted perhaps.

Would you expect the default installation of TWG to allow the uploading of a file of 841kb?

The 500 error happens at the end of a file uploading process and is shown in the lower left corner of the flash uploader screen.

If I need to contact my hosting provider for custom settings, its not worth it. I run several Joomla websites with this large hosting company with absolutely no problems. Would you please refund my registration fee if we cannot quickly resolve this issue?

Regards,

John

Hi,

It's for sure not TWG that have the restriction. Especially if the html upload fails too.

Have you called info.php?
or simply checked the debug file if there are any messages ?

It's in the file counter/_mydebug.out or you can simply check it in the backend.
You could have checked this actually with the freeware version already.

Hello Michael,

I contacted my web hosting provider (1 and 1) and they researched the issue thoroughly.

Their conclusion, after examining the TWG info.php page and their servers, they felt that the maximum php memory available on their side was 20mb and that this would not be enough to run the TWG application.

Apparently my hosting will not work with TWG, and I do not have the technical skill to do any more than has been done already.

Sorry for the time we both have spent on this, but could you please refund my registration fee, and I will delete all references to TWG.

Regards,

John
