Hi,

My account with web-hosting company is suspended because they said twg/index.php overload their systems with too many CGI connections. Here is their email sent to me:

"CGI Script overloading Servers
We would like to inform you that, we have suspended CGI for your
account. We have noted that the script at public_html/twg/index.php is
creating too many connections to our server. This is overloading our CGI
servers. Please delete that script and get back to us, so that we can
revoke suspension of CGI for your account."

Does it really cause by TWG?

Thanks for your help.

Vu

which version do you use. Older versions where not reusing the Ajax connections and on bad configured servers this could be a problem.

you need to update to 1.7.

The Ajax class I where using was not reusing the connections. Since 1.7 The connections are reused and only one instead of sometimes many connections are needed.

I use my gallery to play video, does TWG 1.6 cause the same CGI connection problem ?

Another problem is: sometimes in v1.6 when I click a thumbnail to display a picture, I saw the browser status bar displays picture url back and forth for a long time, then it might display the picture or hung up. Then I have to kill browser, and create a new browser window to reenter TWG. What causes that problem, and does v1.7 fix it ?

Thank you for your help.

it does not matter if video or images. The background loading is done by ajax an the class I was using was not reusing the connection. My new class does.

I never had the problem you described. But from 1.6 to 1.7.x changed like everything - simply check the history:
http://www.tinywebgallery.com/history.htm

and there is a patch file from 1.6 to 1.7.x.

You see the improvement here:
http://www.tinywebgallery.com/forum/vie ... c&start=30

He had like 2000 connections open and it dropped to 3-4!
