The message is wrong - it not KB it B - i'll change this ;).

But you still have not enough memory. php uses the UNCOMPRESSED image in the memory. 2MB is the compressed filesize.

check info.php about your limits.

I'm interested in hosting lots of LARGE photographs (astrophotography, so like 10 or 20 MB per jpg ... or perhaps TIFF if TWG will support it). Is there a way to increase the php mem limit?
I'm not worried about bandwidth.

thanks!

tiff ist not supported by gd lib.

But 20 MB per file? you would really need a lot of memory...
http://www.tinywebgallery.com/en/tfu/web_faq.php faq 4 is a howto about the memory limits.
info.php tells you which max resolution you can hav with you current memory settings.

well uploading files is no problem, because i have direct access to the server, i guess i just need to hunt around in config.php for a php mem limit variable, right?

If i wanted to support TIFF images and other formats, how hard would it be to modify the program. I assume there is a reason why you didn't make it support more file types, I'm just wondering weather it was because most users wouldn't care, or if it was just a whole new level of complexity that was too much to bother with or something. Basically is it possible?
thanks!

actually you only need image magick installed and modify the images filter.

But TWG does not support all features then because all dynamic stuff (like fullscreen mode, some slideshows, lighbox ...) are calculated on the fly with gd-lib still. And this library only supports gif, png and jpeg.
