Hi

I want to remove a few items in the topnav like "language selection|Top Tags|New Window".

I also would like to add an link to instructions for my users.

So i would only have this in the topnav:
"Please select a gallery." " Instructions | Login"

Is this possible and how?

Sure,

all of the menu can be removed by configuration.
And maybe it's enough for your to simply modify the language file to add your text.
