Apologies if these are stupid questions - I have only just installed TWG and am still playing with the setup - I haven't started uploading any of my own pictures yet into TWG.
I already have a load of pictures on my website, but they are in a directory that's not under the TWG directory. Can I setup TWG to use my existing picture directory or do I have to move them all to be under TWG?
Also if I do have to move them, can I just move them or do I have to upload them via the uploader.
Is there a quick way to add tags to a whole load of pictures at once or do I have ot go to each in turn and add a tag?

Many thanks for any help you can give me

you can have the pictures where you like. The path only has to be accessible relative.
TWG scans all directories below the pictures directory.

I would add tags with an editor.
Please read

I prefer MS Photo Info (even it is from Microsoft). You can add tags quite easily there. And then extract to TWG.

i'll see if i can find a Mac app for editing meta data - so far i've been using seashore for editing photos but that doesn't allow adding meta data

is there a way of easily adding tags to groups of files without editing the iptc data?

you can add this in TWG - but TWG can add tags by image or by folder. Not a group only...
