Hello, i am looking for a way to show each filename of a photo within the gallery (so also in the 5x4 (or whatever) photo matrix, prior to selecting an individual picture). Which parameter would i need to set?

Secondly, my filenames might be rather long, lets say up to 130 characters, typically like this:

abc.yyyymmdd.description-1.description-2.description-3.description-4.jpg

is there any way to create a line wrap after e.g. a dot in the filename, or force a wrap as soon as the length of characters is the same length as the width of the thumbnail?

You can set:
show_caption_on_thumbs=true;

html will make breaks anyway. So give it a try and check how it looks.
