hello,

I understand that the file and the program should not be used at the same time, it's obvious. But - if I write into the file must I never use the admin program after that (or if I do it then I loose changes done by hand) ? Or they both may be used interchangeably?
Sorry for not determining it by experiment  .

Andra

Ok, tried to do it with Admin. And discovered that there is a
"Helper variable for reloading your extra settings".
One of the settings I wanted to change was $cache_dirs. Since I didn't find the setting in interface I wrote it in Additional tab as long with other variables I wanted to change. Well, in my_config.php now there is at first
$cache_dirs = false; and at the end of file there is (newly set) $cache_dirs = true;, a little annoying.

$cache_dir is in the interface.

Actually the first one: 'Enable session caching of directories and files'

This is why you have it twice.

"Enable session caching of directories and files"
yes, sorry, of course, it is there  . Thank you, my_config is nicely manageable both ways interchangeably!
