Hi

What is the best way to disable all the tabs of the JFU in the master profile (or a copy of) so that other backend users who are not SU (super users/admins) only see the JFU Upload?

The users will have access to the backend with their own usernames/passwords and they'll be able to see the Components and thus see the JFU. But I don't want them to see the Config, Users/Users Groups, Profiles tabs.

I am just thinking that it would be just as easy as adding a new menu link to the backend and assigning the users to that and the real JFU to the SU users.

In the attached file, is a screenshot with 2 red boxes. Those 2 red boxes should be disabled for other backend users other than the SU ones.

Suggestions? Ideas?

Thanks.

Use the permissions to disable access to certain areas.

This is available since Jooma 1.6.x

I was able to set the permissions on what I don't want other users to do with the JFU ...however, what I was going after is that if they don't have access to a feature in JFU -- it shouldn't be displayed at all.

Right now, they can still see the tabs, but they can't do anything with it. It's a little misleading. By virtue of it being displayed makes them think they can do something with it. Ergo, the reason why it shouldn't be shown if they don't have access to it.

The tabs are defined in the install xml file of Joomla. Fhere I cannot define any permissions.
So currently this is the only way I know how to do this. Joomla core itself would have to be changed (Or I would have to implement this whole handling by mayself).

Best, Michael
