Hello all,

I have seen that TWG support geo tagging by reading tags from the EXIF data and showing google maps accordingly. I belief this feature is a start - and should be extended.

I have the following ideas:
1. Allow a text file "geo.txt" per directory for geo data per directory
2. The geo.txt file shall have an option to suppress the EXIF data per directory
2. Provide a map per directory flagging all pictures and geo.txt files recursively in all subdirectories
3. Klicking on a geo.txt marker should open the respective directory
4. Klicking on an image should open the image zoom

Who has further ideas ?
Are there alreday plans on such an extended geo-tagging-feature?

Kind regads,
Horst

currently are no plans - but feel free to extend TWG. Please use the latest version for this so that I can merge you changes easily - Or make this as addon.

Hi all,

I want to start on this. Are there any volunteers who want to support / share the work?

Is there code available to scan through all images recursively in subfolders?

Michael, is there a loop already in your code which I can copy and later
we may want to seemlessly integrate this there or is it a given to create
seperate loops which would create additional overhead time?

Anybody please contribute now to a list of requirements so we / I can
start with a full basket of wishes.

Regards,
Horst

Hello all,

I have a first beta ready. You can visit it at http://home.h-wassenberg.de/twg-beta/. It has the following features:

- each page has a small Google map integrated
- the small Google map can be moved & hidden
- the small map can be zoomed to the full screen
- all Google maps have the usual Google behaviour
- this includes moving & zooming the map
- Google markers are set for pics & dirs
- clicking on a marker opens a text window
- the text window has a link to the TWG album

Image

It would be greate a) to get your feedback on the features and b) to find some first beta-testers on their on TWG server. Please provide your feedback on the features here in the Forum. Please use my mail adress wassenho@yahoo.de if you would like to have the beta as addon to TWG.

Regards & looking forward to your input,
Horst
