Hi,

I have just discovered a nice function.

Check this site out www.piclens.com I would just love to see this implemented in twg.

I hope some skilled programmer out there would make this a reality.

regards,
Jejje

Nifty as it is, that's not realistic to implement with server code, it'd require a high server load, and bundling it with an already full featured image gallery would make everything ELSE that it does so well, run slower.

As far as I can tell it supports IE, Firefox, Safari, Mac

And I don't think it would require to much work to implement...
#removed_broken_link

I think this would be a nice touch to TWG.

On that page, it says it's BASED on lightbox, which is already implemented inside of twg already though?

And it does have a slideshow function, which is already the same as what the lite version has to offer?

The cool features are not based on lighbox! They tell if you don't have flash then they use something based on lighbox.
The whole thing is a flash!

And the "backup" looks the same as the lighbox I already implemented.

Hello.

This would be realy nice if it could be implemented in TWG.
I found PicLens a week ago and it really impressed me that much, that I wrote a small Python-Script that generates a PicLens enabled Gallery on my own (because the PicLens-Publisher, that is provided on their Homepage, crashed every time if I made a gallery with more than 200 Pictures).

The self written tool:
------- tools DOT wugsi DOT com (PicLens-HTML-Generator)
If needed, I could provide you the source-code of the script.

example of one of the generated galleries:
------- piclens DOT wugsi DOT com / afrika /

The only thing that has to be added is the "photos.rss"-File in every folder and a few lines to the html-page.

Yes - if the visitor want to view the pictures in this fancy style, he need to install this plugin. But right now almost every homepage for picture-presentation already provides this rss-file or at least try to implement it.
Not only the big ones like:
Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, Friendster, AOL Images, ...
even the open-source Webgalleries like "Gallery2" already implemented such small feature with a huge effect.

The rss-file for my largest Page with ~1200 pictures has about 300kByte.
If this is all the effort you need to enable this feature, it's really worth it.

The rss should not be a problem ;). only the updating - because I only have one main page - and depending on the folder a different rss has to be created and maintained.

If you can provide me some information how to to this this sound like a good thing for TWG 1.8.
If therean easy way to detect if the plugin is installed? Because I only want to add a switch to the plugin if it is installed.

Do you have any updates on the Piclens feature? I just updated to the latest version of TWG, and see that it supports Piclens; however, it shows all of the albums together. I was wondering if you had any plans to implement more options/controls for how the Piclens feature works.

right now I only show all images of the gallery. Private galleries are of course supported

I'm waiting for the next update of the plugin because they fixed 2 bugs there.
Piclense does not have that many options ;).
