:!: Can you create a signup page for new users :?:
- when a user sign up he can make a choice of album name witch will be created by the signup script and that folder will be the root folder of his photo galerry..

You like a full selfregistrating multiuser gallery.

This is not possilbe right now because there is neither a selfregistration for users nor different basedir support. You would have to add this by yourself.

My point here is - if you are not logged in - which gallery should be shown?

self registration is not for having a private user galery but to alow users to create subgaleryes in th3e main one...

example:
Main galery
->SUB1
->SUB2

SUB1 is a user witch have upload rights only in SUB1 folder to read write
and create password protected galeryes if realy needs private galery
but all unprotected galeryes will behave as part of the main galery
is like a comunity witch theyr users like to share pictures togheter....
but to upload pictures you need a user and for example the admin wants to put the galery on autopilot for registration and upload...
this is the purpose... of what i've asked

then you only need a autoregistration part - the user - upload - directory part is actually there. privategalleries have to be defined manually.

you protect a gallery by putting a file call private.txt (or whatever you set in the config) in a folder. If you allow the user to upload .txt files (the default) then he can protect them by themself - read the howto about password protected galleries for more details.

2. just do it ;). If it's good i'll include it in the next version. You actually only have to add a frontend for the .htusers of TWG Admin.
TWG is a one man show - and right now I have too much to do for release 1.6 already - my todo list is quite long ;).
And you have to think about how many users should be able to use this - because the first page of TWG is a view of available folders. I think you would need a kind of enty page if you plan to have a lot of users ;).

I kind of like, and was initially looking for, this sort of functionality so I might jump onto the image hosting bandwagon too. :)

While I was looking around for scripts though, it became apparent that an "image hosting" != "image gallery" and that a personal image gallery, which TWG seem more close to, isn't quite the same as a public image sharing type gallery/link directory. The hosting stuff doesn't even have galleries except for hosting client management of their own images.

Anyhow I don't have very busy websites and wouldn't mind adding a user manually for anyone who wants to e-mail me. I can see though in time manually adding users would be a time consuming 'job' which self registration could help a lot.

The more I work with TWG the more astonished I am, although a hobby php and web designer, what Michael has created really appears to be well focused and high quality.

If adding a user registration system can be done without being a problem or at the expense of security, I like the idea.

TWG Admin would have all the functions you need to create a user - extracting this is not the hard part.

It's more about that you have to make a kind of registration process where e.g. the administrator has to accept the user - or if a selfregistration is wanted - and that this registration is kind of boots save ...

I can help you with graphich i did graphic desighn for a while.. but programing.. i have to say that is not my speciality that is why i've asked who is going to doit...
i can make the signuppage but someone has to do the php engine for creating the user and create the root folder for the user and the rest....
- and about the protected albums maybe you can make a smal script the user to be able to create himself the txt file to protect the album... and maybe even to store the password each folder to have its own separate password...

the user can do all of this already :). Create the file with a custom password - he can do all of this with the twg admin.

But I don't have time for this right now. after 1.6 maybe ;).

in my opinion the work you have to do is long term to finish all that..
but the autosignup script is a short term job, maybe very short, I do not know...

why don't you make the short one first that way i can buy the script and use it now and I do not have to wait untill you finish the big ones...

maybe i am wrong so do not get upset .. it is just a sugestion...

finishing 1.6 has first priority - I don't start changing many things before 1.6 is stable. your addon would change some internal things too. therefor many tests are needed too.

And lot of people waiting for the final version of 1.6.
