I've been helping a friend develop his site and he wants to add an swf flash movie type of thing to his site however Wordpress won't allow the upload of such a file for security reasons. Is there a way to work around this? Or anywhere I can externally host the swf file to embed it into the website? I've tried several plugins - none of which work for me.

For information I use the online Wordpress development environment rather than the FTP.

Any help would be very much appreciated

For wordpress you can use the wordpress flash uploader to upload whatever you like

But it is also flash. Be aware that this is not supported by many browsers next year.

Best, Michael
