As soon as anyone , no matter what user rank, they automatically get logged out of the site - although strangely the JFU folder is there to be seen.

However if u move to another page it will show the page as if you weren't logged in properly.

Im using a master profile which has been set correctly as profile no2 in the menu option, plugin is on and just upgraded with teh same problem still happening.

I use Jomsocial and Cometchat, with also the registration redirector to Jomsocial. All other aspects of the site work fine regarding logged in /out. But the JFU page, as soon as accessed in the front end logs out the user. they can still upload, but when they deviate to another page, they are treated like they are logged out.

This happened to anyone else? cudnt find so in the forum thus far.

Cheers

Ben

Edit:
Here's a line from the log file whichis repeated anytime a user goes to the JFU page:
Config call or illegal direct access or missing session settings - browser has to be closed to get a new session: PHPSESSID=427b7142971c5e2360489f5cf2c0d589

I have read the thread 3 times and don't understand it. Can you write it clearer please?

Have you set the session handler of Joomla to none?

sorry - session handler is set to none.

Basically when a any registeresd user goes to the JFU page it logs them out. But the user is still able to upload files. however, borwsing away from this JFU page will make them view any other page on the site as logged out / guest, ie the user has to log in again.

It only seems to happen on the JFU page, so i can image there isa conflict somewhere. The error in the log posted above happens when a user visits the JFU page and is logged out.

Does this help?

Ben

Hi,

Which version of JFU?
Which version of Joomla?
Does it happen when you only go to the page or after the upload?
Have you tried to create a session_cache directory? See http://www.tinywebgallery.com/en/tfu/web_faq.php

Hi

i have the latest version downloaded yesterday 2.10.3
Joomla 1.5.14

Happens when i go to the page. It shows my uplaod folder and the JFU is displayed properly. But it logs me out of the website immediately. I can tell this by the Comet Chat logout at the foot of the page.
Then i go to any other page on the site in the same or seperate window and the same thing happens.
Every time after i view a new page after viewing the JFU page it logs me out again until i close the browser completely and start a new browser session.

ive created teh Session_cache folder. Will see if it changes anything and let u know.

The session handling of the front and the backend is 100% the same (it uses the same function).

I have currently no idea why this could be the case.

what I don't understand is that this happen even if you don't even upload anything - because there are flash restrictions - is there a difference if you use different browsers?

The you maybe have the completely different problem that Javascripts interfere.

Try to set on the JFU config page that the flash should be included in the frontend with the object tag - and not with Javascript.

There are some components that can cause this problem.

ok doen that - still not ressolved the user profile issue.

Just noticed i have no user groups assigned. Im just using a default profile with every member in it and on the main menu the link is referenced to that profile ( ie ID no 2)

Do i have to set up a group too?
