I did look through the faq, etc, to try and answer this question. When I use the admin to generate thumbnails for videos, I see a little watermark on the thumbnail when viewing in the Gallery later. The watermark is of the file type (flv in my case). Even though if I just view the generated thumbnail in an image viewer I do not see it there.

How to change this behaviour? Thanks!

What directive should I be looking at?
I have $print_watermark = false

OK, so the directive for watermarks in other file thumbs appears to be $other_file_formats.

Update: I have now specified the blank wm_none.png to be the overlay for flv filetypes, and after rebuilding previews (I had to do it a couple of times) it appears to be working as I wanted.

Why not provide a global directive to specify whether overlays should be used on other file thumbs rather than specifiying a blank overlay on a per file type basis?

Because this setting is also used for which files to scan.

But you are right - I could add an extra switch to turn on/off this overlays.
