I am looking to be able to link directly to the resized (medium size) image for use on bbs's. However many do not allow a dynamic images inside [ img] tags. Is there any way to do this? I think I would be satisfied if I could link to a cashe image but the medium image does not appear to be stored in cashe the way the thumbnail is.

Any ideas?

Hi,

bbs's ?

anyway - you can link to the small images as well - just use the link from a thumbnail and change the extension from

"thumb.jpg"
to
"small.jpg"

TWG is using direct link to the cache for thumbnails because its just much faster ;)
For the small image this is not done because I track the downloads. This would not be possible for a direct link.

Thanks for the tip!

bbs's ? - fourms, just like this one (bbs=bulletin board system)

If the cashe is cleared and recreated do the new files have the same name as the old ones did? IOW if the cash was cleared would links to those images break?

Thanks again.

jep - they will have the same name.

and yes - if you clear the cache the link will break of course. the automatic generation is done if you call the image over the image.php!

You should maybe also disable the optimzation of the cache dir - the .small.jpg are removed if they are not touched for x days.

change
$cache_time=42;
to
$cache_time=-1;
