ok cookies are activated and im getting this message:
You are not logged in.
Please go to the main page and unlock this gallery.
If you get this message after entering a login you have to activate cookies first!

Interesting.

Cookies are needed because TWG uses a session to track thing like login.
If you configure your server that a PHPSESSID is sent - then TWG will use this and you don't even need a cookie.

OR - you are simply trying to get into a protected gallery directly without loggin in properly!

About which installation are you talking? your own?
which browser? which server? which url?

I have the same problem, with "accepting all cookies" I still cannot log in. For version 1.6, everything else is ok, I can login into administration but I cannot log in from the link in the album page, so that I cannot edit captions and legends.

actually, I just check my cookies, first I remove all cookies on my computer. then I click the login in the gallery page, although I do not logged in, I have a cookies from my web server, with a name phpsessid. Then I delete it, try to login into a password protected album, then I got the same cookie, but I still got a message: "You are not logged in.
Please go to the main page and unlock this gallery.
If you get this message after entering a login you have to activate cookies first!"

I don't understand your problem actually - if you can log into administration then the login works.

and cookies are set and this is fine - if you delete if of course php cannot track your session.
what do you expect when you delete cookies?

maybe you have firewall that blockes something - but when login to the admin works the other login should work too because its the same login!

have you checked the log file?

thanks for your reply.
My problem is that I can login to the admin with the link"admin/index.php"
I cannot login through the "login" button on the up right corner in gallery.
I disabled my firewall. Actually in the above link you gave for test, I can login to that password protected gallery without problem, just cannot login to my own.
I checked the debug file, first I delete anything in it, then I login through the "login" button on the up right corner in twg, then I get the following debug message, please take a look,

your errors are very strange - you say you deleted the debug file - then logged in? - where exactly.

because these messages comes from files only used by the administration.

can you delete it again and not lo gin on the main site but only into a password protected gallery where it does not wort too and check the debug file again?

hi, thanks a lot, now I did what you mentioned.
first delete messages in the debug file, then I log out from administrator, without doing anything, I login back to it and check the debug file, then I found the following:

I did check again that if I login to a password protected gallery, there is no errors generated. so all the errors i got is generated when I login to the administrator. But it's so strange that I can use all functions in administration, like uploading/deleting/..., but there still some errors. Maybe the problem that I cannot login in on a main gallery as well as the password protected galleries result from those errors. It seems that I can use the administrator, but actually something is still wrong. I appreciate all your support. thanks.

seems your server has some files where php cannot get any permissions and owner.

But this has nothing to do with your real problem that you can not login into private galleries.
