Hi,

[Sorry for my bad Englich]

I'm new with TinyWebGallery, and I'm trying it.
It's really a very good product, and congratulations for Michael for his job.

With documentation and forum, I found answers for most questions.
But I did'nt find answer for the problem with cache generation :
- I click on "Check cache status"
- then I click on "Generate Cache images"
TWG displays the number of cache images not yet generated (1350) et the remaining time (11 min 15 s)

If I open the cache directory, I see that only one file has been created
If I stop generation, and I click again on "Generate Cache images", no other file is added in cache directory
But if I reload the page "Configure TWG", then I check then I click on Generate, another file (only one) is added.

If I visit the gallery with a browser, the cache is created for the displayed photos.

For test, I've used the French language and the English language : same problem

Perhaps I missed something?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Jo

The cache generation does not work if you have filenames with e.g. special characters. But they are generated if you access the gallery the first time.

so simply don't worry about it.

Best, Michael

Hi Michael,

Thank you for having (very) quickly repied to my answer.

I'd prefer to generate the cache myself to prevent the user to wait :-)
And when the user visits the site, only .thumb files are created, not .small files (they are created when the user wants to see it, and he have to wait again)

I have renamed all files from the format YYYY_MMDD_HHMMSS.JPG to the format YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.jpg
(The name of directory where the files are is "Selection" (without french accentuation))

I have deleted image cache, then I have tried to generate again.

The same problem occured (only one file . thumb in the cache).

Have you anoter indication I could try.

Thank you very much.

Jo

If there are no special chars it should work. What you always can do is to use an external tool to browse your site.
But without a details analysis I cannot say anthing here.

Best, Michael
