I don't like centred things (ugly!), and on the whole prefer everything to be left aligned. As a registered user I can put the thumbnails on the left and can control alignment with tags in some areas, but then my gallery looks messy because some things are in the centre and I don't think I can left align them (unless I missed it?). For example I'd like the option to left align the content of folder.txt and foldername.txt, please.

You can style this with css

e.g.

.twg_folderdescription .twg_title {
float:left;
}

make the 2 things you mentioned left aligned. You might have also to adopt some margins and paddings...
