Hello intrepid TWG users.

I have moved my gallery to a free hoster, zymic
Unfortunately I have been unable to get the images to show. It is free hosting so I am guessing it is likely something is restricting me but I want to try and make it work.

Below are the results of the install check from the admin screen. The fact that safe mode is on was an issue for uploading, but I uploaded all folders from previous server as is via ftp to get around that. The other one I am concerned on is the lack of ImageMagic, if my images are already resized to under the size allowed by php, shouldn't things be ok? All of my images are definately under the stated 1930 x 1449. If I can just find what the critical issue is I can know if free hosting is not worth wrestling with..

PHP version >= 4.3.0 Yes (5.1.6)
- XML support Available

image magick is not needed. Check the log file in the counter folder first.
Make sure that if you have copied the xml, counter and cache folder that you have changed the files in there to 777 to!

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the reply.
I checked the log (_twg.log), and it's only a few lines long, only showing login, and failed login attempts. Nothing I can see related to image generation, or retrieval.

I also went through every file in the three folders you mention, and made sure they are all 777, but still no luck.

Would just love to find out the cause to know if it is a limitation in the hosting, or me ;)

cheers
Bruce

the log file is called _mydebug.out. If it does not exist no loginfo has written yet. You can pm me the url then I can take a look.

very strange:

#removed_broken_link/image ... age019.jpg

is the direct link to an image and it does not return anything.

Are any images in the cache folder?

Or do you have a .htaccess or something like that that protects the folders?
Because the counter and the search seem to find the images but direct access does not work.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for checking.
Your find is interesting. I checked and yes that link gives no error, and no image shows. But, if I try to download by FTP that image from that location, and it downloads fine, and it shows fine locally. So I am guessing the jpg is fine.

After some searching around on the forum of the hoster, I found non conclusive comments, but pretty much that a lot of people had failed with image galleries that use php. So I think, I might call it quits on this one. Many thanks for the help though Michael. I will move over to paid hosting. (As I should have in the first place).

cheers
Bruce
