I am running:

Joomla 1.5.9
JFU 2.8.2 - Professional License

The Download option works fine in the backend of Joomla, but not in the front end. Users access the frontend through a menu item in Joomla.

I have looked at the tfu_config.php file and $enable_file_download = 'button1';

Any ideas of how I can get download to work for my frontend users.

I went into the Joomla db table jos_joomla_flash_uploader. I edited the profiles used by the front-end users by changing the enable_file_download field to say true instead of false.

why do you not simply set this in the profile of the frontend user?

I am having the same problem.
I haven't gone into the db yet - but I have assigned users, and can't seem to get it to publish on the frontend.

I'll look around some more, but can't seem to find what I am overlooking.

Go to the profile -> Registered Flash Uploader settings

Enable file download

Yes No As upper button As lower button

Enables/disables the download of files. 'Yes' shows the download option in the menu, 'No' disables the download, 'As upper button' shows the download button instead of the delete button and the delete button moves into the menu, 'As lower button' shows the download button instead of the menu button - But only of all menu items are disabled (like folder functions, rename, move ...).

You have to be registered that the download is enabled.

I added a menu item to link to the component..
I have everything set to public..

When I am logged in as admin or user, or logged out - I get this..

You have not specified the parameter for a profile or group id in the 'Menu Manager' or for your plugin. Please enter a valid id there.

Thanks for the quick response!

JFU version 2.8.2
Joomla! 1.5.9
PHP 4.4.9
Apache/1.3.41

What have you entered in the menu entry of the component?

A-HA!

I didn't have a group id number in the menu Parameters.
Thank you so much for walking me through -
