Hello,
I am having trouble with the videos. I have few short videos that I'd like to add to an already existing folder with photos. When I follow the instructions in HowTo 34 I see the icon in the gallery, but when I hit the icon the file does not play.

I tried this with different video formats, avi, wmv, mov and flv with the same result (I checked that the files were playing correctly before I uploaded them).
When I tried the wmv format the player when back to the ready mode. When I tried other formats I got a message saying that the file cannot be found.

Any ideas?

have you downloaded the example from here:
http://www.tinywebgallery.com/demo

important is that you have to use html or html_side as navigation

Michael,
Thank you for your reply. That example refers to a video on google. My video is local.

I am not sure what html_side is but I do have video.php in the same folder as my video. In video.php I have copied the lines from HowTo 34:

<?php
$video_size_x=320;
$video_size_y=310;
$video_player="AUTO";
$video_autostart=true; // or false - depending what you want
$video_show_dl_link=false; // true or false works
$show_slideshow = false;
$default_big_navigation="HTML"; // should be set if you have images and videos in one folder!
?>

Is there anything else that I should have done?
Thank you, and I really appreciate your help!

there is another howto how to mix videos with pictures. And just look on the 2nd page of the multimedia examples - there is an example with pictures and wmf.

Michael,
I added $mixed_video_image_content=true; to my video.php file and added v___ to the jpg and flv files as described in the how to. But I still get the same video not found error in the flash player.

I just tested your video.php and added the prefixes in one of my demos - works without any problems.

Which version of TWG do you use?

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
I am using version 1.7.6

I moved the video to a new separate folder, and still no luck.

Is it possible that the file paths are not set correctly for the video player somehow? How would I check or change that?

Just checked in the options of the Windows Media Player - the file path seems to be correct. So here is another idea. Is it possible that my server does not allow streaming video?

maybe your server does now allow direct access to this kind of file extensions.
But have you tried a folder with videos only? By just using my example folder which you can simply download and try on your server?

Michael,
Yes, that new folder, which I moved the video file to did not have any pictures. It had just that file (plus the corresponding jpg). I tried this configuration with and without video.php in that folder with no luck.
How do I download your example folder?

Michael,
I finally downloaded and copied your flv demo. It didn't work. The flv player gives me an error saying that the video files were not found.

Any more ideas?

Then maybe your server does not allow direct access to this kind of file extensions.

Then you have to ask your hoster.

Are you able to call the video directly?

Good question.
When I try to access the video or even jpg files directly I get the 403 Forbidden error - Before I used to be able to access the jpg files directly.
Are there settings in TWG administration that change access rights?

This has nothing to do with TWG. You have to ask your hoster how to allow this.
Sometimes e.g. permissions like 777 cause this problem because the server only allow direct access to files that have e.g. a max. of 755.
