Every time I try to upload a file (even very small ones), it appears to upload properly, but when I check, the file isn't there and I always get this message in the log:

"01.27.2010 15:47:06 - ERROR 2 in joomla_flash_uploader/tfu/tfu_upload.php, line 117: move_uploaded_file() [_a href='function.move-uploaded-file'_function.move-uploaded-file_/a_]: Unable to move '/mnt/nfs/tmp/php/uploads/phpfZ6J4K' to 'upload/mwj-mic_interview.pdf'"

If anyone can help me out as to why this is happening and how I can fix this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Please provide some more details first:

http://www.tinywebgallery.com/forum/vie ... php?t=1491

Seems your php does not allow to move the file to the right place. Normally this is a configuration error of your server.

Sorry about that...

I'm using version 1.5.7 for Joomla and 2.10.5 for JFU. This has been an ongoing issue long before I ever started working on it, so I'm not sure how it originated. Apparently, it was working a few months ago though.

Any idea what on the server could have possibly changed? If you still need more info, let me know. Thank you.

can you use the default html uploader from joomla? Because there the same upload directory is used.

Additionally you could set the temp upload directory manually to a directory you know!

i went into config > administrator front end > flash uploader settings and created a folder jfu_uploads, which is relative to the main Joomla folder. The jfu_uploads folder have rights to do everything (777). Same situation happens though...I upload a small PDF, it appears to upload properly, but when I check the jfu_uploads folder, it's still blank. I even changed the folder to Images and got the same result.

o.k. In Joomla it's possible that they use the tmp directory for internal upload.

can you enable the upload debug in the JFU configuration? Then you should see how far you get at the upload.

The next options would be to set the temp php upload directory to the same one joomla is using.
Then you have to set the upload_tmp_dir on your server.

And can you check if maybe the save mode is enabled?

the upload debug ive had enabled the whole time (that was the error i pasted from the log in the 1st post)

not sure if u meant save or safe mode, but in joomla, i went to help > system info > php settings and "Safe Mode" is off. i also went under "Configuration File" and the variable $tmp_path is set to a folder called "tmp" under the "Joomla" folder if that means anything. Don't know where or how to change it tho...
