Dear All,

We have created for all users a master profile, when they login they go to their personal folder. All this is working perfectly.
Now we want to provide some files to some of our users.

We want to upload these files in one public folder and than in someway add this folder folder to their account when the login. So we have to upload the files in one folder and not in all of their own directories.

Is this possible?
Or only with registered version?
We want to buy this program Joomla Flash but first want to make sure the questions above is possible.

Best regards,

Paul

You would have to use another menu item with a different profile for this.

or you create symbolic links for this users. But then you have to set the permissions that they cannot upload there.

Download is only available in the reg. version.

Thank you for your answer.

you can either use groups and put all users that are allowed for this link to this profile. And for the other users (default profile) you can disable the flash and show only a message.

Dea Michael,

I created a new config with a group ID, no user are in it.
But when I login with a username I can see the link in the menu an use it.
Please help me because I want to register and use the software but need to be sure that it is working what we want.

Have you read the howto about groups or watched the tutorial?

Your whole setup is possible with the freeware version. So don't register before you don't have it the way you need it.

Yes, I did the same as the group tutorial, but wenn I log in now I see all directories also of other users. this is not the idea. What I want is that every user has his own folder, and some users have also access to an public folder.

Then simply limit the access on the public download menu item to the users you want to give access to.

OK, I think I got it working.
When users who have no access to public click on it thy get the following message.

You have not specified a valid profile or group id in the parameters at the menu item you created for JFU or for your plugin. For the menu item you have to do this on the right side where basic parameters can be entered. Please enter a valid id there. For more information click on the 'Help' button of JFU and read 'How to use the Joomla Flash Uploader in the front end'. If you use a group id please make sure that you have a default profile in this group.

Is it possible to change this message to access denied?

Best regards,

Paul

are you using groups now?

Then you can define a default profile - disable the flash there and write the message in the textbox.

Otherweise you can change this is in the language file of jfu in the languages folder of Joomla.

Yes I have group 1 and a group 2.
Where should I change this setting?
I checked the tutorials, but couldn't find it.
