Hi,

I got the problem when I do sort album order by album creation date. The question as shown below:-

1) Can I do sorting order by album creation date?
2) I found if I do some changes on the album (e.g. add foldername.txt or folder.txt) in the album folder, the folder creation date will be changed. As result, this folder cannot be followed by last ordering of these albums.

The main objective is I use this sorting method is in order to let all users can browse my photo album as newly as show. Everybody visit to my album and they would know which is most recent one.

So I need to have your advices regarding above questions.

You can always add a date to your folder name ie. 20100621_folder. This way, your folders stay in order no matter what your foldername.txt says...

That's what I do, and it works great!

Is that a necessary step to cooperate with below sorting items?!

Have you found a problem on when you set the album order by using admin console?! I found the problem were happened in "Sorting" session

There are three items for sorting albums

Sort albums
Sort albums ascending
Sort albums by date

I found when I set "true" on both "Sort albums" and "Sort albums by date", set "false" to "Sort albums ascending" then save settings and delete the session cache. It always didn't followed my settings and always set "true" by itself for above three items, I don't know why and I saw it can be changed on "config.php" file but in admin console, it cannot be reflected.

i'll check if the sorting parameters are written properly to the my_config.php.

Hi Michael,

I didn't written to my_config.php file since because of I tried that before and got the same result to my environment. Anyway, I have followed above steps provided from member "itsa". It works fine initially, but now I found it didn't follows and I don't know why it won't be followed by name of the folder date sorting in sequence. (e.g. this is a example of the folder name formant "20100715_ABCdotcom")

Please advise and how to fix it please.

Action are taken:-

- Changed of the album sorting then delete session cache
- Make sure that all album folders have been name correctly by date order
- Delete session cache manually
