Hi all,
after upgrading TWG from 1.8.4 to 1.8.5 I cannot delete any comment anymore. I can see the small "delete sign" next to the comment but when I click on it nothing happens.
.
xml folder is fully writeable (777) and all recommended permissions are ok. I upgraded like this: first I deleted all files & folders in TWG directory. Then I copied back the old my_config.php, my_style.css, counter, twg.lic.php, .htusers.php and the content of the xml folder.
.
Debug file:
08.16.2011 22:48:06 (en) - ERROR 2 in oot/04_gallery/inc/filefunctions.inc.php, line 3927: opendir(__/__/cache) [_a href='function.opendir'_function.opendir_/a_]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory
08.19.2011 4:19:22 (en) - ERROR 2 in oot/04_gallery/inc/filefunctions.inc.php, line 3927: opendir(__/.page/images/gallery___08_Kadeco/misc) [_a href='function.opendir'_function.opendir_/a_]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory
.
I've been checking the forum but cannot find anything related to my problem. Any idea what's wrong?

Thanks,
Ivan

From when is your version of 1.8.5? The final one or the one from the forum. The one in the forum actually had this problem because of increased security. But this should working fine now.

Hi Michael - I downloaded it from the main download page:
http://www.tinywebgallery.com/download. ... ery=latest

Should I reinstall it?

No - if you have downloaded if after the official release - have you enabled that only registered users can post comments?
Because in the new version I have added that only admins and the person who posted the comment can delete them.

You probably mean this setting: $enable_comments_only_registered = true;
.
I have tried both - false and true (it is in my_config.php) - no change.. I am using Firefox 6, but I also tried Midori and Opera - the same result.
.
Edit: And I am trying to delete comments logged in as admin.

And make sure that the xml files IN the xml folder are also writeable!

Next time simply update with the patch by overwriting all files...

No - I cannot delete neither old nor new comments. Permissions in the xml folder has been changed including all files inside the folder (777).
.
I will do it next time as you advise, but is there any way how to get it sorted now?

I have created a new test folder (perm. 777 recursively) with some pictures in it in the TWG pictures folder but it doesn't work either. I can create comments for these pictures but cannot delete them.
.
Btw - my pictures folder is outside the TWG folder - I use this in my_config.php: $basedir = '../.page/images/gallery/';

EDIT: Downgraded back to 1.8.4 and it works again. I'm going to upgrade to the latest version by using the patch now. Hopefully it will be ok.

Ok, Michael, I will let you know asap - can you confirm that the patch on the TWG download page has been updated to 1.8.5? As it says 1.6 to 1.8.4, so I'm not sure. I mean this link:
http://www.tinywebgallery.com/dl.php?fi ... .8.4-patch

EDIT: Well, I upgraded using this link: http://www.tinywebgallery.com/dl.php?fi ... .8.5-patch

and I am where I was before. The same behaviour. I can create but cannot delete comments. Probably I am doing something wrong (or something wrong on the server side?) but I do not know what as it works ok with the previous version.

I am not sure about the my_config.php, but it was working fine in the previous TWG version. I just sent it to your email.
