HTTP Error 401 means that a authorization is required. Check if not any proxy server is blocking your way.

Unfortunately the Flash Player can not handle secured http requests - it has a limitation about this.

is there a .htaccess file?

hello.

getting this error again and it is because i've password protected the directory its kept in. This is really important as nobody wants just anybody to upload items to the site.

I can't leave the admin to my clients' (or mine) entire site open to the public. Is there a way round this?

many thanks, D.

Why don't you use the build in login mechanism of the flash?

because the flash is a very small part of the admin - it basically just uploads files for projects...

i'm not sure why it doesn't work coz all the actions etc stay in the protected folder and uses relative paths.

Because when the flash is uploading it's like you access the server with a new session - this is the reason why I send the session id with the request. the first thing I do in the tfu_upload.php is setting the session right.

Unfortunately the Flash Player can not handle secured http requests - it has a limitation about this.
Nothing else to do than wait for adobe to fix this.
