Hi there,

I have just set up TWG 1.6 on my hosted website running on a Windows server supporting PHP. I am now facing problems with displaying the images that I have uploaded, which I expect has something to do with the folder permissions. Therefore, I have asked my hosting provider to set full access permissions to the folders containing the TWG files. This has not helped! :cry:

When I open one of my image folders from the front-end I get the following error message:

Is this still a permissions problem that I am facing and could anybody give me a hint on how to fix this?

first delete all the files in the xml folder - if they are created with the wrong permissions they have to be deleted first.

then open info.php - what does it say?

All green, except for:

Memory limit: Memory limit not detected

and

Error loading image!

and

Display Errors: OFF

the first one is fine - the 2nd a problem - the third actually not - but it does not display the errors - hard to find the problem.

do you still have errors in the log file?

can you login to the admin? - delete the cache, counter and xml folder
and recreate them with the twg admin.

Errors in the log file are gone.

I deleted the cache, counter and xml folders and created them again using TWGXplorer. They all have permissions level "drwxrwxrwx".

The info.php page shows the same image error result as before, though.

what doesw happen if you call your gallery like this:

<your gallery path>/image.php?twg_album=test&twg_show=test

e.g.
www.tinywebgallery.com/demo/image.php?t ... _show=test

It opens the image "info_test.jpg", as it does on the TWG website.

weired - because on the info page I do exactly the same - and there it does not display it as youz said - can you send me a pm with the url?

seems the big images are not generated - maybe there is a memory problem because I cannot detect the memory size.

Have you tried to generate all cache images in the TWG Admin!

The slideshow works fine, though. Why is that?

Yes, I have generated cache images several times without sucess.

The slideshow is directly linking into the cache -

The viewing of an image not because it's calling the image.php that returns the image - there some counters are increased + some additional stuff too ;).

Seems like the loading the image to the memory fails.

Do you have access to the server logs? e.g. phperror.log / access.log / error.log ?

Normally this is logged into my debug file but you have display errors off ;(.

Seems like your server does kill the header information I sent to tell that this is an jpg ...

Without debugging and/or log files there is no way to find out what happens

My hosting provider just informed me that the PHP Memory Limit is set to 8MB as default. Could this be the problem?

Should I ask them to change this and to what?

This could be the reason ;).

It depends on the resolution of your images.
If you see here:

http://tinywebgallery.com/demo/info.php

32MB allows to resize images up to ~ 2730 x 2050

What you can do: upload a small image. e.g. 300x200 in size and check if this works!

But I checked your site - you have images with 1024x800 and this images do need ~ 5 MB in memory - and you have more. And the test image is very small.

AND the thumbnails are generated ... + the small images in the cache as well because otherwise the slideshow would not work.

If it still does not work with the small image the only way is to debug a litte bit on your server ;).

Hi again,

My hosting provider just changed the PHP Memory Limit from 8 MB to 32 MB. However, that did not seem to change anything. :(

I asked for the phperror.log but was informed that they cannot provide it since other domains are being hosted on the same server and that all domains are being logged into the same file, which they cannot disclose to me.

What to do now? Any other ideas?

can you try to turn off all the watermarks?

And if you check the cache dir? are there .small.jpg images in there?
