Hello,

First of all, congratulations on this fantastic work that is TWG.
I've been using it for some time now, and it is simple and resourceful.

My problem is with the FLV player.
It just won't play my files.

What is more strange, i've downloaded the example you have for download and it works. I just cloned the PHP file to my videos, and it will not play.
I work with web design, and I've been installing TWG for some of my clients. The same install, and with the same settings, in another domain (but on the same server, a dedicated we have on The Planet) runs all my videos (made with the same camera, edited in Vegas, and converted in Macromedia 8 Flash Video Encoder, with the same dimensions and bitrate and sound).

The gallery that is not working is in:
www _dot_ ventrerepente _dot_ com _dot_ br _slash_ galeria
in the "eventos" => "2007" => "Aniversário do Espaço Rasa - 5 Anos - Agosto" => Videos

I put a "teste" folder with the downloaded example you provided in the above gallery, and it works (btw, i excluded the config.php file, and it works anyway.

The Gallery that works is in:
www _dot_ janucapuano _dot_ com _slash_ passeio
in the "eventos 2007" => "Raku 15 de Julho de 2007" => "Videos"

Thanks for your help.

Jonathan

maybe the flash player has problems with
á or ç
in the path. The flash player is not from me - therefore I cannot tell you if it supports this chars.

try use a path without them and then use a foldername.txt to give the folder the right display name.

Hello Michael,

Thank you so much for your help.

As the whole gallery is UTF-8 now, I've never tought about the latin characters in the folder names to be a problem. But as you said, the Flash player isn't yours.

I generated a foldername.txt for every folder, reduced the folder name, eliminated the latin characters, and voilá... everything works wonderfully.

For people reading this with the same problem, remember to save the TXT files as UTF-8 (i saved as ANSI, the default for notepad, and got weird characters the first time, and had to do the whole foldername.txt files again).

I still have some questions:
- how long can the path be, in a linux server?
- or more to the point, how long the path can be, for TWG?
(I mean, in characters. I know windows have a 255 or so characters limitation).

Thank you!
If I can be of some kind of service, just drop me a word.

great.

I'll update the flv player soon to version 3.99 - the whole thing was rewritten ;).

about the path on linux - no idea.
about the path in TWG - your limit is the url limit:

The spec for URL length does not dictate a minimum or maximum URL length, but implementation varies by browser. On Windows: Opera supports ~4050 characters, IE 4.0+ supports exactly 2083 characters, Netscape 3 -> 4.78 support up to 8192 characters before causing errors on shut-down, and Netscape 6 supports ~2000 before causing errors on start-up.

About something to do ;) - TWG Flash uploader version 2.6 needs a few translations (from 2.5 to 2.6) ;) - you are from brasil?

Hello Michael,

Yes, I am from Brazil, and I work almost exclusively with flash.
So, I can make those translations for you (well, for everyone in fact).
Spanish also, if you want. Just send me the files.

About the path limit, I dont think I will reach the 2000 characters barrier too soon, if not at all. But thank you for the info.

it would only be a couple of lines ;) - the flash now reads the language string from xml - therefore it's only an xml file.

Allright,

Send it to me at:
jonathan at elektrastudio_com_br

Can you release the limitation to include URLs in the posts?
It don't let me post a simple email.

I got your email from the email button ;).

chekc this: #removed_broken_link

There is rc2 of TFU - but I have send you the language file already - but there you get the flash to test some of the strings (most of it you cannot test because you need a personal license for copy/moving files)

Thanks,

/Michael
