I get certain error messages in the frontend for other extensions since I had installed the newest JFU (2.8.1.2) component.

The JFU is linked as a menu item. The error is displayed in the mainmenu (what damages the whole design) on the JFU Upload page and concern the Greatjoomla/Core Design plugin: Magic Tabs. This plugin is not used on the page!

Error message: Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated in ..\plugins\content\cdmagictabs.php on line 608

I installed the JFU plugin to use the function as article but this damages much more extensions (and still the <<Magic Tabs>>).

e.g. the Joomlaworks module UCD displays the error now (for each news article):

Notice: Undefined variable: limitstart in..\modules\mod_jw_ucd\mod_jw_ucd.php on line 249.

JFU itself displays on his page the error:

Notice: Constant _VALID_TWG already defined in ..\plugins\content\joomla_flash_uploader.php on line 11

Additional to the Magic tabs error (what is not present in this content).

I tried a lot. Nothing works. Any idea what is wrong?

JFU is not damaging any extensions. But is it turning on the display of errors. Seems quite some extensions that are not implemented properly.

I have sent you and updated version where the error handling is not changed anymore for the frontend. This was actually planned this way but I missed one point where this is done.

Joomla is actually loading all active plugins this is why you get the errors even when you are not using the plugin on this page.

Simply reinstall JFU and let me know.

Thank you for your quick response. I un-/install the new componet but now the frontend do not work.

Under my live work space (Win Server 2003, IIS6) I get a blank page only.
Under my XAMPP test area I get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ELSE in C:\WEBSERVER\xampp\htdocs\testweb\components\com_joomla_flash_uploader\joomla_flash_uploader.php on line 64

With activated JFU plugin the complete web site do not work.

Error message: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ELSE in C:\WEBSERVER\xampp\htdocs\testweb\plugins\content\joomla_flash_uploader.php on line 104

The new changes works. I did quick tests in Win 2003/IIS 6 and Apache surroundings. So far all works - no unwished error messages any more.

I will do some more tests in deep later. I inform you when there is an issue.
