Hi,

After I upgraded TWG to 1.7.x, I got error when I select "Top 21" link of albums :

No images could be found for this view.
Protected galleries are only included if you unlock them first

I'm using 1.7.6 now.

Please advise. Thanks.

click on the bandwidth icon. This view is only updated every x hours for optimal performance.

gives you more details. how to disable this if you don't like the caching.

how many images are in your gallery?

I'm not sure what causes the probelm. Some albums work with Topx (maybe pre1.7 xml), but some don't.

From myconfig.php, I have :

$precache_xml_background=false;

and config.php, I didn't change any default cache values. What are your recomended settings to turn on Topx?

I have 4612 images in my gallery.

I notice that after a very long time Topx works for new albums which have problem, but the statistic is not updated properly.

This is explained in the howto. The numbers are only updated every x hours if you have more than 2000 images. You can change this settings if you like.

Also in config.php, the default parameter:

$precache_main_top_x_interval=4;

refers to 4hours to refresh cache, but I have the above error for months in new albums before TWG shows something for Topx.

Interesting.

Because then the topx cache it not refreshed at all? e.g if you click on the bandwidth icon it should be refreshed right away.

If you are in a subfolder then you can click on the topx as well. Does it work there?

Regardless where I click the bandwidth icon in albums at main level or subfolders. I got the same error message for Topx. So I think Topx is not working at all for post-1.7-upgrade albums,
Topx still working for pre-1.7-upgrade albums, I guess maybe it reads old statistics (?).

Could it be file permission problem? I set all files in xml folders with write permision for everyone, but it doesn't solve the problem.

The format has not changed.

If you are in a subfolder then you can click on the topx as well. Does it work there? do the counter work?

I got the same error for subfolder too, but the counter works fine at all levels.

Is there a change if you set

$precache_main_top_x=false;
$precache_main_top_x_limit=5000;

But it'S even more strange that topx is not updated in the subdir because there they are normally not cached.

As your suggestion, I set

$precache_main_top_x=false;
$precache_main_top_x_limit=5000;

in myconfig.php, and click bandwidth icon to regenerate cache, but I got the same error.

click "Top 21" in the menu, you'll see the message.

It's a configuration error.

You have disabled the counter of images ($show_count_views = false; ) but you still have set
$topx_default='views';

So it's impossible that the topx can show views!

The old folders maybe work because you had the views counter enabled before.
